Southern Gila

Greetings,

I am new to New Mexico, just moved here because of the military. I got lucky and drew area 16B/22 for late rifle elk. I scouted it for the first time this weekend. Anyone have any experience there? Not looking for secrets or to have the work done for me. Just general thoughts or stories (good/bad).

Where did you scout? I'm fairly familiar with the southern area, I'm in silver city.

I've hunted it a lot, but as a NR, I haven't been in the unit since 2011. I've got 10 yrs. plus experience prior to that bow hunting if you are interested. PM me if you'd like.
