Spotting scope pockets on an Apollo

Anyone ever tried this? Seems like you may be able to sew the loops offset on either side of the zipper and make it work - one on either side...
Am I missing something?

I don’t have an Apollo, but I’ve been considering trading in the Tahr and trying this out.
