Some get smoked/canned, and some go in the freezer.

I used to do that too, I can’t even eat salmon anymore. My wife still loves it but I just can’t do it anymore unless it’s those dried strips, lox or a dip/spread.

Brock A,

Nice Eyes if you need some help figuring out the Big C hit me up. I fish it usually once a week and we are headed into the best bite of the year.
I've never fished it but would love to one of these days. Are you fishing it by roosevelt?

Yesterday was slow. It was hot (92 degrees) and not a whisper of wind so the bugs were HORRIBLE. My step dad caught two walleye, one being very nice.

Spring bear Thursday - Sunday then another ocean trip for deepwater ling cod on 6/15.

The last couple weekends have been busy!

I went to Idaho for the EXO death hike. That was a fricken blast. From 12:00 AM Friday to Saturday at 11:59 PM our group hiked 45 miles, saw ZERO bears, rode out a blizzard and did some fun challenges thanks to Steve. Hiking while sleep deprived is no joke!

This last weekend was a GREAT fishing trip. We were able to fish deep water for ling cod. We caught limits of nice size fish.

Spent the last 5 days fishing in Costa Rica for billfish and tuna. Had a blast and bringing home about 100 lbs of tuna and dorado.

Man, I miss CR! Did you fish the Pacific or Caribbean side? I did a 2 week solo trip down there in the late 90’s, rented a motorcycle in San Jose, and rode over to Quepos (central Pacific side). Spent a week just hanging out on the beach and fishing for sails. Hell of way to get a much needed break from the long AK winter.

We stayed in Quepos, fished about 20-35 miles offshore and were on the bite every day. I love it down here. That trip would be doable if I was single again. I’d come home to an empty house if I tried it now.

Its called an Opah or "Moonfish". They catch them alot around Hawaii I believe. My dad caught this one 30 miles out from San Diego. Very good eating. We usually do everything ourselves, but paid to have this one processed, check out this link.

Was on Hatteras for the family beach vacation a couple weeks ago.A few of us, including my oldest son, were able to sneak away for afternoon...considering it was 20mph sw not a bad afternoon. Highlight was my son hooked into and boated and released a 37" drum. Filled the freezer and got some great memories. Awesome day!
