St Vincent Island FL

Anyone ever hunted on St Vincent Island in FL? It’s fairly well known for its unique opportunity to hunt for Sambar stags but I did not get drawn for the Sambar hunt this year. I did however buy a whitetail tag and will be headed down there in two weeks for a primitive weapons hunt. Anyone ever been on the island that can share some insight on how to find deer on a swampy coastal island like this?
