So what is everybody wearing on their feet to close that last bit of distance? I hunt in very gravely, crunchy desert with sharp things that do not allow me to just hunt in socks.

I have a pair of the Rimrok stalkers and they’re not the best for Arizona. I just used them down there last week. The rimroks would be fine if you were stalking in grassy areas or in timbered areas I think. But the crunchy gravel you find in AZ, I didn’t think they were much better than my boots.

A buddy mentioned trying Stalkasins. I looked them up, they’re a bit pricey, but might be a good option if they would be quieter on gravel.

Has anyone ever tried wearing neoprene booties like you find in the fishing section? I would think a pair of those to protect from rocks and sticks, with socks over them to dampen sound might be a worthy combo.

I have a pair of mocassins and a pair of wrestling shoes. I think they are both good options for areas with cactus and sharp rocks.
