Good evening fellas!! I had been looking for a no-nonsense hunting scope..duplex crosshairs, no exposed turrets, no parallax knob, and 10x max. After research and a “two thumbs up” from Doug, I ordered one on Jan 31st and had it in my hands on the 2nd!! It is a Steiner GS3 2.5-10x42. I opened the box like a fat kid ripping open a surprise box of snack cakes and rushed out on the back porch to look through it! I put it up to my eye and the glass is AMAZING! To me, better than the Swarovski Z3 I had before. I quickly got out my scope mounting equipment, attached a pair of Steiner Lightweight 30mm medium rings on my Weatherby Vanguard MeatEater 6.5 Creedmoor. The weather has been crappy here in Western Pa so I had to wait till today after work to sight it in. 35 degrees, snow covered ground and sunny…perfect!! I “old school” bore sighted it and had it zeroed at 100 yards in 4 shots. Shot 3 different loads and moved out to 300, hitting a antifreeze jug with first 5 shots easily. To say the least I love this scope. Very, very clear and bright glass! The scope is made by Burris with Steiner German glass. This is my 4th “Burris made “ scope. The 3rd is a 1992 Signature that sits on my Dad’s m700 .270 I inherited. Anybody looking for a new no-nonsense hunting scope, get one! You won’t regret it. Sooo glad I didn’t go with Vortex!!

It looks like Burris and Steiner are sharing reticles now as well, specifically the E3 reticle. Also, the Steiner Plex S1 Reticle looks identical to the Ballistic Plex E1 reticle in the cheaper Burris Fullfield E1 line.

This optic looks like it has some sort of posi lock, but I don’t see how to unscrew or loosen it to make adjustments? How does that work?

Can you explain the connection to Burris?
Beretta bought Steiner , Beretta also owns Burris. To get more technical, Uberti owns Beretta,Burris,Steiner,Beneli,Stoeger,Franchi, Bushnell, Uncle Mike’s, etc.

They also use the E1 in the Burris Veracity as well.

Did this optic come with that tool? In looking at the scope, I am not seeing a knurled section to remove a cap and access the posi lock screw?

I did a little more digging and Steiner says it’s a “passive” system that requires no adjustments.
