Stock change over

Hi guys Iv got a A5 adjustable McMillan stock on my 338 lap imp with a 30 inch proof barrel . It's an awesome set up but I am wanting to go backpacking and thought I could save so weight if I changed over to a smaller stock like the game warden . If anyone is running a smiler set up I like to know how you find it . Or am I just being soft and just carry the extra weight
