Stock touching barrel

So I just put a new barrel (25-06) on a savage lightweight storm. And the new barrel was a slightly larger profile than the old one. So now the barrel hits the stock (at least at the forend. Can’t see the rest of it so I don’t know). Should I sand or dremel down the stock so there’s clearance? Or should I shoot it first and see if accuracy is an issue? If it makes a difference I have never shot this rifle, so I would have no reference for accuracy. I’m leaning towards just sanding it down but I’m open to opinions

I’ve seen that with a few savage rifles that I’ve owned. I did whatever it took to give clearance before I wasted any ammunition. Haven’t owned a bad shooting savage but I’ve seen groups tighten with an after market stock
