Hey all, new to the forum. Planning on picking up new SG bag soon. Debating between the 5900 and 6900. Currently, I am leaning towards the 6900 based on the pocket layout and the extra space overall. I will be using this pack on backpacking trips and backcountry hunts that could be between 5-8 days. Any thoughts or preferences out there from personal experience? What is the max days out of each pack on average? Any advice is appreciated.

I have the 6900, buddy has the 5900. I like the 5900 a lot but feel like the 69 has a few distinct advantages. In bivy mode, you can access the top of the bag through the zipper without loosening the top. There are four swing out pocket attachment points along the center zipper that gives you more organization options. The two large zippered outside pockets are handy for bulky quick access items. The layout lends itself to being flatter than the 5900 which is nice for bow attachment. The center zipper also helps me with loading and securing items as I fill the bag. The extra 1K Ci is of course a plus

I think the 6900 is the best bag they make. I got the 7900 and I really like it but I like the layout of the 6900 better.

I like my 6900. Outside pockets hold my first aid on one side, knives/tools/fire kit on the other. Also fits a spotting scope.

I was looking at a 5900 and a 6900 and I ended up with a 5900. After owning I sold the 5900 as i think is was a bit to small for 7-10 day trips
