I learned this from my Brother in law. I will start by saying I’m not a huge cabbage fan but this is the bomb.
You will need
Red cabbage
Red onion
Breakfast sauasage (I use my homemade with about 1/3 package of jimmy dean for some extra fat)

Chop your onion and cabbage, add the onion and sausage to a large pan and cook until browned and onion is mostly cooked. Then add your chopped cabbage. Stir in and cook down until the cabbage starts to wilt to your desired texture. That’s it! Eat as is or add to some rice as we usually do. Brother in law was on a low carb gig so we ate it as is. The cabbage will soak up the fat from the sausage and the flavor is amazing. Be sure to make enough for left overs as it even better the next day. With leftovers I’ve even heated them up and added to a salad.

Similar to “egg roll in a bowl”

My sister made it for me with ground pork from the store, now I make it with venison or ground wild pork.
