So I have a Williams peep attached to my 2 piece scope base. I want to keep the gun CO legal but want to use a scope here in Utah. I am about to buy another gun but wondering if I could use quick release scope mounts and freely switch between the scope and peep and still retain my zero. Anyone do this?

It would stay close but I would confirm zero when reinstalling. That is my center fire rifle experience with taking a scope on/off anyways.

Yeah, when I say zero I don't expect it to be perfect but at least close enough that I can get it back on in minimal shots. Are there specific rings that are better for this?

Any of the scope rings that attach to a rail and can be undone w/o messing with the tension around the tube will get you back in the ballpark if they fit up to the rails well. Warne makes some quick detach even, no experience with them though.

I know even with 2 piece tally rings I had to take off a scope for something IE rings completely off scope and off the gun, reassembled to what I felt was the same position and I was still on paper at 100yd.
