So, South Carolina made it illegal to use natural deer urine based attractants last year. The rule was enacted to keep CWD from getting into SC. Don’t get me started. CWD is deadly serious and I absolutely don’t want it in SC, but there’s no evidence that scents would ever spread it in the amounts sold or used.

Anyways, has anyone found a synthetic scent/attractant that actually works? Everything I’ve found and tried is garbage. Would love any suggestions.

I don’t like any of them. Just don’t trust anything artificial against a white tails nose unless on a decoy to fool them for a brief moment

Glad I’m not the only one who’s struggled. Been hunting for 30 years and just crazy to think I can’t even use Tink’s anymore. Hopefully they’ll change the law soon.

Whatvere you do dont buy the CODE BLUE stuff, it is TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You just mean the synthetic right? The Code Blue calming zone was one of my favorite attractants when we could use anything.

I've never had much luck with any of the scent products. Evercalm seemed to spook deer in my area more than calm em down. However this year I made a mock scrape on 9/20 using some old scents I had (wildlife research active scrape, denvers deer scents buck and doe scents), The only thing I did different was use buck fever synthetics forehead gland on the branch and deer are really hammering it. I truly believe the forehead scent made the difference. Going to pick up some of there other products to give a try soon. This is on a small parcel my parents own, there are usually not many good bucks around but he's not too bad for the area. (this is my first post with pics so take it easy on me)

I am trying to not purchase any scent this year, the money I have thrown away on piss is mind boggling as Im sure it is with many of you. When you read how quickly the pheromones disappear from estrus scent it seems like only the real live doe in heat can be a guaranteed attractant.
