So after some unusual left to right misses at 500yds on a calm day,…I went back to the drawing board…
Clamped down the gun to a vise at home, shined a light through the front of scope. The gun remained level via vortex top ring bubble level…..through up a plumb bob against the reticle shadow on the wall, and indeed the scope was off a few degrees.
Adjusted to match, then spun the dial 36 moa, and the reticle stayed plumb.
I’m good right? Bother with a tall test?
originally I didn’t use a plumb, but a 2 foot hand level, in the dark….wasn’t too accurate obviously.
