Talon or Merlin on a Gila?

Has anyone used a talon or Merlin on a seek outside Gila?

The mesh pocket really functions as a talon or merlin so if you don't need the space you don't need one. A lid though will work well and provide a bit of extra org. However, you can still use a talon or merlin if needed or desired .. its just the mesh pocket provides a similar function

Thanks for the reply! The main thing I’m trying to do is attach odd sized/shaped stuff to the outside of the pack, like a folded elk decoy, or a basket for mushrooms, or even an elk quarter. Sounds like a talon would do this and just cover the existing mesh pocket?

Yes it will. You can probably do some of it with straps alone. I've had Elk decoys strapped outside of the Divide pack
