Tell me about KDC Tripods/Bipods

The idea of carrying a tripod for optics that can also be utilized as a rifle bipod as well is very appealing to me. My search brought me to the KDC products and I wondered how many of you have had real world experience with these products.

I'll be using the tripod with a Nikon ed50 as well as a set of meostar binos. I'm looking at a new Alterra stock for a 700 and will prob have a rail installed for a bipod attachment if that makes a difference.

I used the KDC tripod this fall for hunting and found it was easy to set up and position, fine for supporting my SLC 10x42s but really struggled with it using my Kowa TSN-554. That's about as light as spotters come and unfortunately the tripod just sagged and flopped around too much to make it usable. Didn't help that the 554 has relatively narrow FOV. At 9oz it's hard to beat the KDC for a bino tripod tho.
