Texan venturing out West

FNG from TX, heading out to CO this November for 3rd rifle elk. Have not the slightest clue what I’m doing but I’m stoked.
Been a whitetail hunter my entire life and I have the itch to chase elk. Regardless of even seeing an elk, I’m looking forward to the experience.
Got into custom rifles, hand loading, long range shooting 3 years ago. Now gearing up for mountain hunting. Looking to gain from everyone else’s thoughts and experiences, and one day, potentially contribute!
