Whitetail archery season started this weekend down here in Texas. Anybody get on the board? Saw lots of great bucks on Instagram already, looks to be a good year

I'm on 300 acres in Central Texas. No luck with deer, but I huffed and I puffed and got The Three Little Pigs. Also saw a beautiful Texas sunset. All in all a great opening weekend.

Have seen some decent bucks on camera.

Man those are some nice deer! Where in central tx are you at? I hunt outside of Fredericksburg on a 100 acre property and we don't see anything like those guys

I’m going to sit in my tree this weekend, hopefully connect with one of the matures bucks I’ve been seeing on camera. Problem is they are 99% nocturnal. Caught this big pig on camera the other night. That’s a 3 or 4 gallon plastic pot beside him. 1AB9F68A-7098-4599-8465-6CB0A4CC9843.png

I lease and hunt a large low fenced property in south Texas that is owned by family friends. I haven’t killed a deer in years. Always letting my kiddos and friends do the harvesting, but caught a few trail cam picks of this buck late in the summer and this dad decided he wanted to hunt this year. Harvested him on the morning of October 12th. My personal best buck ever 172 3/8” gross B&C. Monster frame 20 4/8” inside spread 34 4/8” mass and 24 6/8” and 26 2/8” main beams.CB9403D9-633B-4E0A-8C8D-1683A7671C2C.jpeg47BF90DD-AE4E-4A84-A1AE-FAECEEAD2150.jpegCBDA0FDF-0A06-4B7F-A3C3-CCE85C4CAB80.jpeg

A buddy took me hunting on some of his family land out near Fairy, Tx yesterday and we did a little spot and stalk. Came across this buck with 2 does. 17" inside spread, approx 130"ish 9 point 4.5 year old. I had lost my lease earlier this year so am very grateful for the chance to even hunt at all and was really happy with this one!

Nice! I’m also in Hamilton County.

No bigger kick in the nuts than losing a good deer lease

I have seen some very nice bucks in Sonora and San Angelo Texas this year. Waiting on an axis buck to show his face again. He is bending/bowing the fence down while jumping it, too heavy to fully get over the fence. Rifle hunters have them spooky right now, he has kept hidden pretty well now for a month.

Going to be near George West, Tx in mid Jan. Last weekend of season and a month past peak rut, but sounds like there still may be some chasing. 600 acres free range.
