Late to the thread, but no, you didn't overreact!

Side note: Our neighbors raise beef, very small time, usually have about 8-10 black angus. They don't have a bull, so they find 1 every year to borrow, and have him do his thing.

A few years ago, they had an angus bull, and after a few drinks, we went to check him out. He was a big boy, somewhere north of 2k lbs., and didn't have a very good disposition. My buddy put some grain out to get him to come to the fence. Well, my wife had a few more drinks than I did, and thought it would be a good idea to mess with him. She was smacking him in the face, and trying to play with him like he was a puppy.

She just wouldn't listen, we were trying to get her to stop. There was no way the fence would hold him, and all I had on me was a .38 snubbie. My buddy wasn't armed.

Finally got her away from him, by physically dragging her away, and for whatever reason, the bull decided to let us survive the experience. 😂

Had a crazy black angus cow one time that would hurt if she got the chance.
