Great advice right there. Something I wish I had done rather than buy / build more rifles. It was fun doing it, but truth be told my 30-06 I started out with years ago needed a glass upgrade, Instead, I bought a new rifle thinking it would be better, but I really wish I would have put that money towards more trips. Lots of rifles later still feel the same way.
I have a pretty big collection of hunting rifles. I’ll find an interesting caliber or configuration that might be the “best” for XYZ. However, if I had to grab one rifle and hunt big game anywhere in the US, I’d grab my M70 Stainless in 30-06. Which begs the question…why do I really “need” anything else?

I did just score a sweet 257 Roberts. It should make a great nice-weather deer rifle….

Barrett Fieldcraft.270 win. Wouldn’t change a thing. With a trijicon accupoint 3-9x40 it is sub 7lbs loaded and shoots like a dream.
