Well in good ol Washington our Governor has decided that fishing is bad for us so he has shut that down along with everything else that is fun. We can still climb in the SxS from our house and go to the mountains. I broke a big rule yesterday and drove to Boise and picked up a new pickup, did everything by text. Been looking for about 6 months and the dealerships are getting hungry so it worked out good for me. Drove down and only interacted with salesman and finance guy, even took my own wipes and pen to write with. They wanted to do a final detail and I ask them how long it had been since someone had been inside the pickup and they though about a week. I said then I will take care of it. Opened door and wiped the seat and steering wheel down got in and the salesman followed me to the gas station and fill it up with diesel and I headed for home. 12 hr day. My job is not depended on me leaving my house so I have been very fortunate and my wife works for the school dist and they are shut down, but she is still being paid so we are counting our blessings. Been doing some coyote hunting and sheds are starting to drop so time to get to looking.

Work is still the same for me if not a little busier. My wife’s business has slowed down a little bit. The biggest positive for me came this weekend when I got to officiate the wedding of a very good friend. The preacher canceled 4 days before the wedding and they couldn’t find another to fill in so they asked me to do it. I got ordained on one of the hokey online deals to be able to make it legal. I talked with them about what they wanted and wrote a traditional wedding ceremony the way they wanted and even added a very brief sermon in it. It turned out so much better than we all expected and was very meaningful for all of us.

Spent some time setting up my Nallo 4 GT in the backyard. I've wanted to verify the weight of just the tent plus enough stakes to handle 40 mph winds. Pulled the footprint, used only enough stakes for corners and all guy outs, and weighed everything. Weighs in lower than spec!

I’m still working but really trying to get the kids out and give my wife a break on my days off.

Work for me has changed in some ways....my field work has been deemed non-mission critical and allowed on a case-by-case basis. This past week was a time to get out and measure the snowpack for water supply forecasts.

That looks like a killer stream!! Can't wait to get out with the fly rod again!
Lower section of the Linville Gorge. The fish see alittle less pressure down in there. Killer of a hike to get down, and back out, but the lack of distraction in there is nice.

Couple pics from towards the top.

Yea the sheds in the pics were off resident bucks. Seems about 2/3 of the bucks around here migrate back up in the summer but a few stay down lower or at about 9,000 ft all year.

Cool intel. I’ve always wondered why some stay low, most go high.

My wife and I have 15 and 11 year old girls. The social distancing has been great for all of us (kids would slightly disagree). Being able to slow down by not having to chase kids around with sports, friends and every other thing that goes in to having kids has been a good thing for our family. With that being said, sports, friends and everything else is important too, it just been a nice break allowing us to spent more time together. Shed hunting, coyote hunting, cooking squirrels you've had in the freezer way too long, taping sugar maple trees and so on.
