Whichever one you keep, buy 300 or 400 rounds of ammo and practice shooting at various ranges from various positions. Most folks don't shoot nearly enough and instead spend hours contemplating on which rifle to use. I'd keep the 30/06, sell the other 2, buy a 223 and a bunch of ammo and start practicing. My daughter shot her first bull with an 18" barreled 30/06 at about 400 yards, worked great. She can shoot though.

Keep the 270 to compliment the 300 weatherby
TY, I am coming around to that conclusion. Put a synth stock on the Mark V to save the 1960's furniture if ever it gets to the field. One of the .270 for all else and sell the other 3. (06/300win/other .270)

Thanks all for the feedback and being so kind to a new forum poster. Lots of invaluable info. / advice. Looks like I will be keeping one of the .270's and if ever anything bigger is needed put a synth stock on the Mark V. The rest will soon go in the classifieds here. (30/06 - .300 win - other .270 all NIB unfired T3 Hunters)

Was born and raised in Monroe County and was very lucky to have 60 acres of rough field w/pond and 40 acres of woods behind that over our backyard fence. In my teens my father bought a 100 acres about 30 of crops and the rest woods and creek bottom. Soon after my brother bought 200 acres very similar to my fathers and just 2 miles away. (very spoiled as to access). I always thought rifles should have been ok to use in the northern 1/2 of the state on a by county basis do to being so flat compaired to southern Indiana.

You were in God’s country!!
