Thinking of buying leupold vxr patrol

Hello everyone,

I’m thinking of buying a Leupold VXR Patrol 1.25-4 for my M4. But I have a question for you optics pros. I currently have a Swaro z3 3-9x36 on my hunting rifle. My bro has a Leupold Mark AR 3-9x36 on his hunting rifle. I was shooting with his hunting rifle a bit and the glass looked pretty poor compared to my Swaro and it didn’t feel good looking through It (my eyes didn’t physically hurt but didn’t feel good). Will the VXR patrol be similar glass to the Mark AR or better? Can I expect the same discomfort to my eyes as the Mark AR as well?

I have a couple older and a newer VX3i on my hunting rifles but my M4 have an Aimpoint Pro they pair up nicely.

I went ahead and bought the Vx-r patrol 1.25-4x20 and mounted it with an Aero SPR. Glass looks pretty good. Not as good as the Swaro but definitely acceptable.

I have a VX-R 3-9 Firedot on one of my .270s and my son has a VX-R 2-7 Firedot on his 6X45. They are not the patrol model so it may not be an accurate assessment but I find the glass slightly better than my VX-3 2.5-8 and almost indistinguishable from the Swarovski Z3 3-9 on my other .270s.
At the price point of the VXR it's hard to beat.
