Going on my first third season hunt in Colorado. I will have a deer and elk tag in north west co. My question is, what elevations should I be focusing my glassing. I understand snow can be a determining factor. Just looking for a general starting point. The area peaks out around 11,000. Thanks

Last year when I went, every animal I saw was between 6k and 7k in elevation. Elk, deer, pronghorn, bunnies, you name it. It was single digits and blowing HARD with already probably 6-8 inches on the ground of snow.

I found bulls at 9.5-10k last year 3rd season. Bitter cold, but not much snow.

Depends on the unit. Some areas you can't get up to the mountains in 3rd season and you have to hunt close to low elevation county/BLM roads.

There was a lot of winter kill in that area. I would suggest a completely different region.
