I recently was given this old rifle by a neighbor for helping build a few hundred feet of privacy fence.
I’m looking for information on it, but Sakos are tough to age due to their terrible serial number strategy early on. This one looks to be an old original Sako-Mauser from the late 50s before sako came out with their own long action in the L61R model. It’s also in the classic .300 H&H instead of being re chambered to .300 WBY like so many of the era were.
Pretty sweet rifle if nothing else, I’ll more than likely offload it at some point but for a couple days work it was well worth it.
If anyone knows what these two barrel markings are please post them up. Also if anyone knows what it’s worth I’d like to figure that out as well
