I definitely recommend having chains. You're likely to run into snow, ice, mud or all three and its better to have them as an insurance policy. If you have time to order online and wait for delivery, check out etrailer.com. They've got some good prices on chains. I can't answer the question regarding chaining up your rear duallies, but I have a 3/4 ton diesel and carry chains for all four tires. If you've never used chains before, be sure to put them on to test fit them before you leave so you're familiar with the process. Also, you may find the need to trim a few links off. Get the ones w/the cam system.
