Going to put a Micro B Gen 2 on my Tikka T3x 300 Win Mag. From everything I've read and speaking to a few smiths, it appears my only options are a 1/2 x 28 or a 9/16 x 24 since the Tikka barrel is only .620 at the muzzle.

I don't believe the 1/2 x 28 will leave enough barrel meat around the bore (.5 - .308 = 0.192) as most manufacturers recommend at least .200 of remaining meat.

I'm leaning towards the 9/16 x 24 (.5625) since it leaves about 0.2545 of remaining meat outside the bore. My only concern is that it only leaves 0.0575 at the shoulder and not sure if that is enough.

Looking for suggestions from others who have threaded their .30 cal Tikka's.

I am looking at the same thing and there’s seems to be conflicting info on best way to proceed. I was leaning toward 9/16ths but would like to here what others have done

I have a Muzzle Breaks and More break with 9/16x24 on my Tikka T3. This was suggested by Nathan @ MBM and so far no issues. Probably 30-50 rounds through it so far.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm going with 9/16 x 24. I'd much rather have a thicker wall than a wider shoulder.
