My primary hunting rifle is a 300 WSM with a Thunder Beast CB brake face-mounted to the barrel. I am looking at doing a moose hunt in Canada, and would have to leave my Ultra 7 suppressor at home. Has anyone shot their TB CB setups without the suppressor? I'm curious how it shot, POI shift, recoil, etc. I'm not a fan of shooting with muzzle brakes, but my gun shoots well and I could just use ear protection.

My other option would be to just bring my un-braked 7mm RM, but I like the idea of using the 300 for moose.

I have that same setup on my 7 rem mag. I have a #4 heart 26” barrel and my poi shift is about 1 moa. Recoil reduction is alright don’t notice a ton of difference between using the can or the break when it comes to mitigation.

I have shot mine without the can and only the brake. I suggest re-zeroing because my POI was off as well between the two.
