Looking to buy a used Tikka in 300 WSM, probably T3x. Wanting to cut the barrel to 20” or 22” for a 6-7” suppressor to backpack hunt, so that’d be a plus if you’ve got one that’s suppressor ready.

Looking for a good deal price-wise as opposed to expensive custom work.

If you’ve got something similar to this that you’re wanting to part with, PM me.

Thanks,
Matt

I’ve got a factory tikka barrel that’s been cut to 20” and threaded 9/16x24, with a brake if you’d like to buy it?

I have a Sako A7 300WSM satinless but it has a 24" threaded barrel with muzzle break. With a scope mounted, it weighs in about 7 3./4lbs

I've got a Tikka T3x 300wsm superlite in stainless steel. It's got 18 rounds down the tube. Not sure if this would work as the barrel is fluted and can't be cut.

I think I'm going to post it up in the classifieds.

You can cut the fluted ones down a fair bit to about 21”

Not much meat left on a tikka barrel for 5x24 threads. I have to run a washer for my brake on my 19in tikka 300wsm.

Yeah it seems like theres different opinions on this. Most say go 1/2x28 on the sporter barrels threading but it runs a risk being not as securely attached as 5/8.

I hadn’t heard about a washer option, that’s interesting.

The brake has a "crown" so the tight fitting washer just gives it a touch more material to sit against the barrel.

You’re pretty doing what I want to do, but my wish or desire throws a little bit of a monkey wrench 🔧 in it by wanting a lefty. I believe both the Tikka T3X Lite and the Lite SS have fluted 24 inch barrels as someone mentioned above, but are available in left hand and 300 WSM.
I have a right hand Savage M110 Long Range Hunter in 300 WSM that I like but I can’t get the brake to turn off. It weighs 8.4 lbs bare. I wouldn’t mind a lighter lefty in 300 WSM that had a shorter barrel for a future suppressor. I did some damage to my ears the last two years with extremely close and quick shots where I couldn’t put in earplugs. I don’t want to do that again. I do plan on getting Walker game ears to help.
