So this gun comes in a 20" or 24" barrel....

I am looking for a paper puncher, steel ringer, coyote, speed goat gun. I will not hunt anything bigger than a speed goat with it.

***Steel out to a 1000

What barrel length would you get and why.

I personally would buy the 20" version. It's lighter, more maneuverable, and you only loose about 100 fps versus the 24" barrel. If the majority of your shooting is inside 600 yards go with the short barrel. If you are considering running it suppressed, consider a 16-18″ barrel length.

I got the 24" in stainless CTR....
Why?
Cause I already have a pile of lightweight short handy rifles to choose from and I wanted to try out shooting further out with it.

I can get a 143 eldx to 2850+ fps with the 24" and with a folding stock adapter on my chassis stock it's shorter than the factory 20" CTR in the OEM stock.

I went with the 20" and here is why, I've heard from a reliable source that the 20" is slightly more accurate due to barrel harmonics (shorter barrel equals less barrel whip) but that can easily be tuned out by reloading. The second reason is weight; I wanted my build to be under 12lbs so I could compete in some of the "Hunter class" competitions vs always going up against some of the best precision class guys in my area. And last but not least I didn't want to wait 2 months for a 24" barrel... Either way I don't think you can go wrong.

Since I wont be really hunting with it it doesn't seem like the barrel length will matter much out to 1000 yards so I will probably go with the shorter one since its lighter, easier to find.
