This was my first year with a tikka rifle and I’m really impressed with the accuracy out of a stock rifle. I went with the T3x wideland in 6.5prc.

I usually hand load but found a couple boxes of Hornady precision hunter that is consistently getting 1/2” groups.

Congrats. That one has very nice spread for a southern woods whitetail.

Prolly could have bagged 'em with a 3 MOA rifle huh?

That one has a neat rack. Cool getting one buck one afternoon and one buck the next morning. TN is one antlered deer per day / 2 per season in most units.

Wow. That's low. When I lived in baton rouge you could get 7 deer a season with just a license. If you wanted doe permits those were extra. I'm sure that's changed in the last 25 years though.

Unit L which encompasses most of Middle TN allows 3 does per day and 2 buck per season.

Nice work. What bullet are you using? Factory ammo or reloads?

Hand load 143 grain ELD-X 41.5 grains H4350 CCI BR-2 primers Hornady brass 2700 FPS. Essentially same as the Precision Hunter factory ammo except I seat my bullet about twenty thousandths off the lands so my COAL is longer than factory.

They stick out too far and affect how I carry my rifle. Maybe he’s got a solution.
Was JK.

I'm with you. I have a couple rigs with AICS mags, and while they function well and allow for great coal, I'm not the biggest fan of a mag that sticks down on a rifle that's going to get carried in hand a lot.

I like to have 5 rounds in case I have a coyote come in early on a hunt and I send some lead down range.

I carry my rifle with my shoulder strap and it doesn’t interfere with how I shoot.
Copy.

I carry a sling in my daypack in case I have to pack meat but if I’m in the field it’s in my hands. But I stillhunt pretty thick cover so if I see a deer there’s no time to get the rifle off my shoulder.
