I’ve had many custom rifles built, so I know about rifle accuracy. How does Tikka get their rifles to shoot like a custom? Today I took out my newly acquired SuperLite in 7RM. I did no load development at all. Just picked a powder charge and went with it. My only complaint is that the barrel is slow. I might try RL26 to see if I can get a bit more speed from the 168.

First group below is 168 ABLR with 60 grains of IMR4831 at 300 yards.
Second group is 120 NBT with 66 grains of IMR4831 at 300 yards.

I setup the ABLR so it was .140 off the lands which is the longest I could make it and feed from the mag. The 120 I seated with the seater set exactly the same as the 168.

You got a winner! I have a mess of Tikkas myself, and they all shoot very well with little or no (factory ammo) load development. Because of this, I really enjoy loading for them. I actually have a new to me Tikka .223 waiting for a scope that rounds out my Tikka line-up. If it performs like the others I own, I'll be a happy camper.

In order of importance
stiff receiver
good barrel
stable bedding system
long throating (this is why they are slow)
