I have t3x superlight in 7RM. 7lbs with scope, unloaded, limbsaver recoil pad. Recoil is not bad shooting off the bench. However, if I went to 300wm I would want my setup to be closer to 7.5lbs total weight.
Scope I'm looking at is just about a pound plus rings so theoretically should be right in that 7.5# range.

Since I already have a 308, would the 30-06 be a noticeable increase in performance or would it be negligible? If negligible, I'm leaning towards the 300. Man, does this stuff ever get easier...

Any of those 3 will kill moose and sheep to 500 plus.

.308 to 30-06 would be VERY minimal, esp if you shoot factory ammo. .308 is generally loaded more to the max.

I put about 10 rounds through my T3 300wsm this afternoon. It’s wearing a NF SHV 3-10 in Sportsmatch rings and had a Harris bipod attached, so probably a little over 8lbs as it was. Recoil was stout but not nasty, I feel as though the stock design helps.

I have a T3 in 300 WM topped with a Vortex Viper 2.5-10x44 and it is stout but by no means intolerable. It is so easy to carry and so accurate I couldn’t be more pleased.

Get the 300 and get into reloading. You can always load the 300 down, but you cant get more out of the 30-06 than a 30-06.

I had scheels put a limb saver slip on recoil pad on a righty in the store just to see if the LOP was terrible but it actually felt pretty good. That compared with several of the points above, I'm leaning towards the 300.

You could always go 300 WSM as well. Sort of like a +P 30-06. Wont save a TON of recoil, but it sort of splits the difference between the 2.

I have the tikka t3x lite in 300 win mag and I upgraded to a limbsaver recoil pad and it kicks about the same as my old browning 270.

I would highly recommend. It’s puts stuff to the ground
