Building a new box on 12' 4x4 using the elevator mounts and 16' cross bracing 2x4s. the size is 7' by7' I plan on running 4 cables off the corners to ground anchors. If have any idea or advice that I could do while in the building phase please share. I would like to see photos of your box blinds .

I built this one this summer. 8’x8’ box on 5’ legs. I built it so my young kids can hunt with me as they grow up (4, 2 and one more on the way)

I like the high ceilings, slide up plexiglass windows and full sized pre-hung door. I like the full size stairs for ease of access for schlepping gear and the kids. I put 3/4” horse stall mats on the floor and they are nice and quiet. I have 3 office chairs and a buddy heater in it right now but you could damn near set up a poker table in there.

My wife took a nice buck from it this year. I only sat in it a couple times as I was mostly bowhunting this year.

Build it on a trailer. I managed 3k acres for the past 5 years and making them mobile is a must! Height is not that important unless you need to see over some terrain.

I bought old hay trailers in the area which were 3-4 feet high already and built them on 6--8 foot 4x4. Once you have it where you want it for the time being I used cheap trailer leveling jacks on the corners to stabilize it.

Bolted the 4xs to the base and also ran a cable to the center as well.

Windows and doors are the most important component to the build, Don’t cheap out on either.

Thanks guys . The granddaughter will love the yellow boots. This one will be the 7th one I built on my property. The 1st one to be elevated. Two of them have windows and a door with gas heaters. I have one more wall to finish then I can start putting it together .Looking for new ideas or something I wished I did while in the shop. I planted the switchgrass the other day for cover in and out and a few rows of it though the food plots in front of it.

Not quite what the OP is talking about but an easy option for guys looking for a more mobile /budget option. We built 3 of these in my shop then just run them out and put them up. 2 guys can put them up or take them down in an hour or less. I put the blind on in the fall, and remove them after season. The first blind finally wore out after 5 years. I cut a rubber truck bed mat to fit the floor and use an old rotating office chair.

I haven't been, that shorter one has been in place for 4-5 years and no issues, I've got a standard tower that's 12' and 4x6 hard sided and its been up for 8 years un anchored no issues. We've had some really gnarly winds on several occasions and it had crossed my mind that I'd find it on the ground but it was no worse for the wear.
All of mine are sitting on top of the ground, they're built in such a way that they might not be in a spot forever, we don't cut the braces down so if they get moved to another spot and we need to adjust something we've got room to adjust. I use 4x4's for the legs, 2x6's for the floor base, 2x4's for the x braces and 1/2 plywood for the floor, all treated. These have been really stable, granted the popup blind is light so they don't have to be particular strong.
Prior to these I had several pre-fab metal towers, those would blow over on occasion if left unanchored. Also I've never had one of those that didn't squeak.

are wanting portable?

i built one on legs and set it on 2x10 treated pieces. then along side each leg i dug a post hole and put a stub of a post in and filled the hole with dirt [ you could use sackrete ]

i then drilled a half inch hole through both the stub and the leg and put a piece of all thread rod through. remove the rod and you can move it.
