I would recommend you try out a longbow at some point. When I first made the swap to traditional I was all about the recurves, but now am a big fan of the straight stick.
In saying that I practice mostly with a 58" Bear Grizzly; seems to exaggerate my form flaws so that I can work on them. I hunt with a Bear Montana and love it. The longbow is more forgiving and so far I don't feel that it has limited my shot opportunities. I'm sure there are higher end bows that I would enjoy more, but I am a tight wad.
End of the day start light with whatever type of bow you end up going with.
I am 4 years in and am so thankful I made the change to traditional. Best of luck to you on your journey!

I’m going to go against the grain and not recommend a samick sage, or any of the clones. That was my first recurve based off of all the similar advice I read. Maybe I got a dud. It stacks badly, feels and looks like a 2x4, and to me provided no satisfaction of ownership. Buying a used, slightly more expensive, better shooting bow, that I enjoyed more really ignited my enthusiasm.
