With that long of an insert you have probably drilled into the wedge piece that holds the wrist straps. Or into its housing. Should be pretty solid.

I will see if I can get some photos as a followup to this thread. I used the poles this year on a few trips and as shooting sticks on a Wyoming Muley hunt. The really worked out quite well. I will try to take a few more pictures to better illustrate a couple things.

Ray, I will have to check and see. I'm not sure that there is a wedge on these at least but I will look. Regardless, I had no issues with the inserts being very solid holding the shooting yoke and cameras. Granted, I am not going to mount my heavier DSLR on the end of a pole and then carry it around with the camera just hanging off.

I was going over some footage of a recent trip and wish i had my video cam on a tripod or at least a monopod, now i think i really should do this, very convenient setup. Looking forward to more info.
