Trick pin ?

I really like the trick pin idea and plan on using it this fall especially since elk will be my only archery hunt.

Have a couple questions that I hope Darrin and everyone else will weigh in on.

What sights are you using with a trick pin? I have a 7 pin but have been thinking of a change for awhile.

What arrows are you shooting? Right now I'm shooting FMJ's with brass inserts. Would losing a grain or 50 help extend my trick pin range enough to make a difference?

BTW I'm shooting a 454 gr arrow with a 27 inch draw at 64 lbs so not very fast. Will chrono it out when I get the chance.

So am I up in the night or would a flatter shooting arrow and a different sight make my trick pin set up even that much more effective?

I would stick with what you have. Heavy arrows are better. Shouldn't effect the trick pin yardage too much.

I'm shooting a 460 grain arrow at 27 inch draw.

the way I understand it the trick pin is for a single pin sight if you are shooting a 7 pin sight you don't need to worry about a trick pin setup
