Just got the BTX and 115mm combo with the magnifier. Way too heavy for my manfrotto befree I used for a standard spotter. Suggestions on a setup for this? I found a lot of suggestions for the 85 and 95 but not the 115 which is way heavier.

Thanks, play is really in the tripod. I have a sirui va-5 head now. I can try the bigger plate as well.

I have a the btx 115, I don't like the outdoorsman balance rail cuz when I wana swap to an stx real fast its a pain...il sell it ya cheap if you'd like to play with it

My tripod is a 14series RRS with the bh 30 head...this is the absolute minimum for the 115...the tripod is fine but when hauling the 115 I could see bumping up to the bh 40 head

Got it, send me a message. Maybe I’ll take you up on that.

Best bet is to go with the Slik 824CF with the Sirui VH10X head
Call me at 516-217-12000 to discuss this and other options

The 824CF can hold over 15 pounds. Your set up is no where near that heavy. The BTX is 3.1 Lbs and the 115 Module is 7.7. Total 10.8
