Truck check engine light on, think it is DEF related.

Some background of me. I'm from California going to school up here at Montana State University and damn I love it already! I'm 20 years old living at the stadium view apartments and my truck has been a pain in the ass for me with the emissions system. I really would like to delete the damn thing and be worry free for the rest of the trucks life. It is a 2013 duramax. It's throwing the p21dd code and that alone will be $900 to fix, so I'm trying to delete it instead. My Ram 2500 Cummins did an extortion job on me a few weeks ago.
Dash kept telling me to get it to the dealer within a certain amount of miles, and did a countdown. Said it would shut down to 5mph max if I didnt. Was the DEF pump. 2K$.
Thing has 44K miles on it.
I've parked it in the drive till after Thanksgiving.
Then it will be parked at the local Toyota dealer.
