Turkey hunting South east Wyoming

I recently just moved to the Cheyenne area from back east. I had picked up a turkey tag before getting here and just have a few questions I'd like to ask someone privately. I'm not looking for a spot, I just want to know if I'm wasting my time in the spots that I've been out to. In the SE part of the state you will need to find property with water and some trees....anything with river bottoms is going to hold some birds.
