Unit 2 private land elk tag

Does anyone know how or who to contact about possibly buying a landowner tag in unit 2 Colorado? If so can you still do it on your own or do you need to go guided?

CO does not publish a list of Landowners. If you find a tag, the terms will be "negotiable" There are two types of LO tags- private land only (PLO), and unit wide (public and private). Technically if you buy a LO tag they are required to allow access to the property for which the tag was issued for the whole season.

HOWEVER that is not always the case in practice. If its an outfitter etc then to hunt the property you may need to go guided. Or they may straight up tell you you can't hunt the property if they sell you the tag, or limit you to certain days etc....

The price of the voucher should reflect what sort of "conditions" apply with the deal. Unit wide go for more than PLO. Access to a great property costs more than "public" only deals etc.

Not very many unit 2 tags available so good luck finding one.
