I mentioned this early in the OG thread, but it was recently brought back up as a possibility by @Unknown Suppressors again. Maybe this will gain enough traction to get things rolling. For those that might want the benefits of the design concept but a little more suppression for calibers 6.5mm+, I think this would be a winner -

3" OTB + 5" baffle stack, OTB ID same as OG, OD 1.7".

Any input appreciated.

My next can will likely be selected based on max suppression. Something that competes with the Nomad L TI XC, Magnus, Hydrogen-L, etc. An OTB can that can achieve that mid-120's SE dBA would be killer.

Not sure if that's exactly what this can could achieve, but if it does I'm in.

My first can and only one I have much experience with is a Nomad Ti and I love it. I impulse bought an OG and wish I would have waited for more feedback about it being a bit louder since I already have terrible tinnitus. I'm thinking 3+5 or maybe even 2.5+5.5 with a larger OD with the "tone" from the baffle design would get it pretty close. Hopefully they do some testing and it comes to fruition.

I'm more interested in the OG-M than the standard OG now that people are talking about the noise of the OG. That's assuming cost remains close to the same & weight is also in the same relative ball park.

Sounds like a range can. It might be interesting but only if it fits over a larger diameter barrel.

Have you shot the Nomad and OG together yet? I think you saw my post comparing them. I thought they were both pretty similar in suppression level, slight difference in tone.

Sacrificed a little hearing damage to do that test with no ear pro. No ears ringing from any of them, but I don't have any serious pre-existing hearing damage.

An OG-M would probably be more of a range toy for me for sure. Maybe a predator hunting can.

I think that the OG is a perfectly fine hunting suppressor. My ignorance caused me to make a bit of a stink about the volume, but having done even more comparing, I haven’t found anything I would rather have that does what it does. It it a comfortably hearing safe can that only adds 4” to the length of the rifle. Which presumably is why they made it the way they did…

If it could be made 4-6 dBA quieter at the expense of another ounce of weight and going up to 1.65” or 1.75” in diameter, those would be tradeoffs I would be willing to accept. But I don’t know how feasible that is.

I haven't, I've been busy with projects and the range next to my house just closed for summer due to fire hazard. I think I did see it but have also been sifting through all the other feedback with lots of reports saying it's percieveably louder. I probably just need to test them myself and see. Thanks for your sacrifice, lol.

That's exactly where I'm at with it, and what I was thinking might be achievable with those specs, or get real close.

I’m skeptical about a 5” in front of muzzle can being something I’d be happy with on a magnum.
For sure. I'm no engineer but my thought was if there was an overall increase in volume, plus another baffle or 2, with their baffle design dialed in for tone, it might bring it down to a similar level of comfort and perception.

Id be curious to see the difference in #'s vs OG. If it's a significant difference, I could see it being a great design. If it is too close to the OG, I think U.S. had to pick the one design that they feel best suits their audience.

We have the OG Magnum in our roadmap. Barring unforeseen circumstances, it is in the works.
I think we’ve already settled on the name in another thread….

keeping in alignment with the name of the first suppressor, I think the magnum can should be called the “BBC”…. Big Bore Can. Or Big Blast Can.

I’d love a reflex style 30 cal can that kills recoil and noise on my 18” 7PRC close to the TBAC 338 Ultra.

I wonder what the point of diminishing returns is on the reflex length? Does decibel reduction increase proportional to an increase in reflex length?
By the sounds of it from the podcast they've been printing and testing about everything you could think of with this design concept, so hopefully they'll be able to share some of that info without revealing trade secrets.

This is the idea for the OGM! Don’t know what the final dimensions will actually be but, this is the idea!

We haven’t tested it a ton but, when we have tested it, our 22” 300PRC test rifle using hdy 225 box ammo has been between 135dBA and 138dBA. To get it down to 130-132dBA isn’t going to take a ton of extra volume out front. To get it down to 126-128dBA takes a lot. This is the trade off, make something you don’t mind carrying in the field that is a little loud vs Hollywood quiet. If you want Hollywood quiet on a big cartridge, buy the .338/.375 big stick.

I am probably asking something that has already been asked, but will there be an OTB/reflex option for up to .338? It looks like the OG-M will not go up to .338.

I want to buy a reflex-style can from Unknown because I have two guns (.30 cal and .338 cal) with stainless barrels. Both are 26” barrels. It would be nice to sacrafice some dBs for the shorter overall length of the gun with the suppressor attached.

Based on the roadmap it looks like the Big Stick is the primary 338 can, but muzzle forward. Not sure if it's a legal no-no, but US/UM might be able to ream out an OG-M to accommodate 338 if you ask nicely.
