Not wanting to pollute the "Easy Beginner Sewing Projects" thread, what useful project ideas do people have for utilizing old scrap 'conventional' fabrics?
I've got a large box of worn out clothes that I'd like to practice on. Lots of cutoff jean legs, t-shirts, and a few ragged out carhartts. I'm looking to use them to learn but want to do something useful with them. Obviously, tool rolls and bags. I was also thinking about making a large tackle bag to hold plano boxes - I think it would look cool made out of old carhartt pants (if I have enough material).
I'm especially interested in old t-shirt material uses. Lining material for fly fishing reel bags?
One thing i have done with remnant material my mom has left over from quilting is to make barbie cloths for my four year old.... Maybe I'll post some pics of some hot little barbie duds...
