USGI Poncho

Anyone ever use these for their rain gear? I'm debating on taking mine because it has so many uses. I'll be doing a 10+ day high country colorado elk hunt early season. I have a set of goretex paclite... but this poncho could be used for so many different things and my Kuiu gear does shed rain well. Anybody with any experience using a USGI poncho as their rain gear please chime in!

I tried it last year. I regretted it. I would recommend regular rain gear. There are much lighter ponchos designed to cover your pack and come down to match the front. I am a sweathog so raingear is point less if it is warm and I am exerting.

Thats what I was figuring, just so many uses for that damn thing its hard not to take it!
