So I am accustomed to NOT using a light while turkey hunting. I’m a little more careful in the mountains, but wandering how much usage outside is camp do you use a head lamp? White, green or red lense? Any one willing to honestly share? Thanks!

I use green for whitetail on the way in if there isn't enough moonlight to see where I'm headed.

I use a Princeton TEC with dedicated green LED’s. Much more light than the ones with single red LED for tent use.

During Elk season I may hike two to three miles in the dark to be where I think the Elk are located. To make good time you got to see where you are headed. I use a minimal flood white headlamp. Then sit the next 30 minutes in the dark to let everything settle down.

I use a red light and if I'm trying to be stealthy I'll hold the headlamp in my hand shining between two fingers and only shining down so I can see where I'm stepping.
