Hello,
My dad finally drew the Beaver East Rifle tag this year. We have quite a few points of contact we have reached out to, but we are always looking for more. We have been in the unit once on a scouting trip a couple years ago. A few questions we are trying to get answers to to narrow our search are the following:
- Where would you spend your time? Northern part of the unit (this is where we went on our scouting trip. We spent time in the burn)? Southern part of the unit?
- Are elk numbers pretty evenly distributed throughout the unit?
- Are there parts of the unit that are more glassable?
- Would you hunt the higher country or the lower oaky country?
Any insight is much appreciated. If you have any advice we are happy to take it. He has waited a long time for this tag and we want to be prepared as possible going into the hunt. This info can't replace the boots on the ground scouting and hunting, but we just want to be as efficient as possible when we on the mountain.
