V3 issues tuning/vane clearance

So I had my v3 rebuilt, long story. But now I’m having issues.

I’m shooting a v3 31 at 76 lbs with a 30.5 draw A mods. I’m shooting easton hexx 260 spine at 30.75 carbon to carbon arrow. 150 tip with 50 grains of brass. I recently switch from q2i fusion x-ii 2.1 to bohning heats. I shot 4 fletch in both configurations. I shoot four fletch to help steer my fix blade broadheads. I got the bow to shoot perfect bullet holes with center shot dead center. But now I’m having vane clearance issues. I mark up my roller guard and my vanes at hitting dead center of the roller guard. I nock them in the x configuration. I have also tried the + configuration and have contact as well.

Any help will be appreciated?

Without looking it would be hard to decide.

Is the roller adjustable?

When I couldn't find a solution for this before I just switched vanes.

You could also fletch up one in 3 fletch just to see how it does.

Lastly, if you are having perfect bullets through paper, and it's making contact. I would have to ask myself is there something else wrong?

I didn’t catch which rest you are using. Your nock point centered between axles on the string? Your rest timed? Your cams timed? , is it contacting on the side, bottom, top? You have the correct top hat configuration in your axles? All questions that should help you solve your issue

I am using hanskea trinity. Nock point centered and cams are timed. It is contacting dead center of the side of the roller guard. Top hat configuration the same top and bottom. I have adjusted them so that my center shot it perfect.

Only thing I haven’t adjusted is rest timing

Form, or torquing issue?

What’s your centershot?

What does a bareshaft do at 20-30yds? Knowing this takes out fletching causing flight issues and shows what correction is needed.

If it’s nock right then put centershot at 13/16 and if need be shim cams right until it clears up. Someone else will come with advice as well but centershot at 13/16 and cams shimmed accordingly to achieve good flight should not have any fletching contact especially with a lower profile heat vane.

Make sure your cord is not slipping and that is is pretty damn tight at rest, if you are using the hamskea as limb driven which I’m assuming you are. If what 406 said above doesn’t work. I’m not 100% on the newer bows but if I recall Mathews indexes their limbs based on deflection, if your limbs were removed they need to be put back in the correct order if they still are doing this.

Bow was just fully rebuilt by Mathews limbs and cams. My center shot is 13/16 on the dot. Clamp a arrow to the riser and it is perfectly even (I measured) all the way down with my nocked arrow.

I haven’t tried shooting bare shaft out to 20 but I’ll give that a try next

So bare shaft shoots dead perfect bullet holes, but definitely still getting fletching contact on roller guard with fletched arrows.

Something is way way off if you are getting roller guard contact with heat vanes.

Take a picture of the orientation of your roller guard, I'd also use either footpowder spray or lipstick to be certain when it's happening.

As a work around I'd set your centershot closer to 7/8, then move top hats again to get it tuned with the wider rest placement.

I used lipstick to confirm I was hitting. I can see it’s scrape from roller guard and then transfer to paper.

So I shoot it in the x formation. The top left fletching is what contacts center of roller guard. In the one picture you can see when I turn the arrow where it contacts.

I also tried adjusting/turning the fletching upwards more so it clear but still doesn’t help.

It looks way close to me, I can't figure out exactly. I'd double check that you are actually 13/16 from your riser at the Berger hole to the center of your shaft. The few pictures almost make it look like your rest and arrow are sitting closer than they should.

Also seems like your nocking point is high, you stated you had it centered, so I assume it's how the pictures make it look.

On my v3x 33 I am trying 4 fletch, I'm using 4 ffp 200's, while not the largest vanes by any means, I have plenty of clearance. Could likely be using blazers.

I'm also surprised that you could be getting that much rotation by the time it's getting to the cable guard. The string comes in a good bit before it actually releases the arrow, even with the string stop. The arrow should hardly have rotated until it clears your rest.

Sorry I mis spoke it was the bottom fletching catching but here is my center shot and nock point. I may be a hair in but that what it took for my bare shaft to shoot bullet holes

Looks nock high. I have been setting up the newer mathews with the loop dead centered between the axles. Then set the rest to put the center of the arrow in the center of the Berger hole. Looks like the bottom of your shaft is about center or just below center of the Berger. That might help get you centered on the roller guard.

I'd also go ahead and bump the rest out a bit, then use the top hats to bring things back together. Assuming you haven't already shimmed to the right as far as you can go.

The roller guard should be centered with your shaft, if you have the nocking point centered between the axles, shaft dead centered on the Berger, and the rollers aren't centered with your shaft, play with the rod. Either extend it out, or if you need to cut it shorter to get it raised up so it's on the same plane as the shaft.

Clearance is difficult with the centered cable guard. It might be you need to go to 3 fletch, vane straight out.

Sounds good, I’ll try dropping the rest and resetting the d loop. That sounds like it may be the answer.
