Or waterproof mittens depending on the level of dexterity you'll need.

Look at lightweight Spearfishing/lobstering gloves, tougher than anything you’ll find in hunting brands, some are waterproof, a lot are thin enough to have very good dexterity.

The Sealskinz were a bust, waaaay too think. Looking for something more like a merino liner...thin! Super thin!
