I just received these back from Vortex. I sent them in to get the rubber eyepiece replaced. They came back with a clean bill of health. These are used but not abused. Glass is clean with no scratches. $600 shipped

There is a noticeable difference between the Japan made Razor HD's and the China made HD's (side by side) that I have looked through and I have looked through multiple pairs of each.

Yep, I prefer the Japan ones. I have a pair of Razor HD 12's with the serial number below 1500 and they have not failed me. I have looked through Zeiss Conquest HD's (10x), Leica Trinovids (10x), Swaro SLC non-HD(10x), Maven B.2 (11x) and probably a few others that aren't coming to mind. I really liked the Trinovids and Mavens. The new Razor UHD's were also very impressive but a little more $$

Very helpful thank you! Are the Japan razors close to Conquest? I’m assuming not quite on par with the Maven B2? It’s crazy how many options are out there so hearing from someone who has looked through quite a few is a big help.

I've looked through the japan razors and mavens side by side. I give the edge to the mavens. But in that price range you also have meopta meostars and nikon monarch hd.
