I have a pair of 10x50 Razor HDs (made in Japan) that I'm hoping to trade for a different set of quality binoculars. The glass is flawless, and comes with everything from factory except the little hinge cover/cap (where tripod stud mounts). I just enjoy trying new/different optics, and tend to favor 8x over 10x.

Wanting to trade for something along these lines:

Zeiss Conquest HD 8x32
Kowa BD II 6.5x32 (plus some $ from you)
Nikon Monarch HG 8x42
Meopta B1 Plus 15x56 (plus some $ from me)

Or I would sell for $650 TYD.

Dropped price (from $700 to $675 TYD) and added a couple more trade options.

Price drop to $650. Had some interest in these. I'll get them out tonight in low light to see how they stack up to some other optics I have on hand.

I had these Razor HDs and my SLC HD 8x42s out until well past sunset. My 8x Swarovskis are definitely what I count on for spotting game early morning or late evening (and they're darn good at it!). In a nutshell, here's what I found:

I picked a few detailed objects and kept an eye on them (both were on a tripod) to see what would diminish first. When there was still a bit of light the clarity was similar in center of picture (SLCs are definitely nicer apparent FOV, outer edge clarity, eyebox, etc); but once it started to get dark I could still make out the detail in my control objects a solid 7-miniutes longer with the Razor HDs.

Personally, I'll still take my SLC 8x42s because the far wider FOV, more forgiving eyebox, broader depth of focus, and superior optics throughout most periods of the day. What's interesting to me was my SLCs appeared just as bright (or maybe just a touch brighter than) the Razors; but they simply lost fine clarity a bit faster. I could most definitely make out more pine needles and bark in dark trees, better definition of roof shingles of neighbors, and could read small writing on distant objects for a legit 7 minutes longer with these Razors. I also prefer the focus wheel of the Razors (by quite a bit!).

At any rate, it's not what I expected. I'm obviously not in love with the Razors, but I do think they've got a solid win here for low-light performance! ...and they're still available.
