Wash new Sitka gear?

Anyone wash there Sitka hard shell gear b4 wearing first time to soften it up, does it help? The tumble action in a front loader has to act as wearing it out a cpl times correct? Oh and more importantly to get rid of factory odors.. Just picked up Incinerator set. Thnx

I just received my new stratus set today. I tried it on to make sure it fit correctly and into the wash it went. I was it in cold water on soil level light low spin with scent free detergent and hang dry it

I try not to wash anything with DWR until it absolutely needs to be washed. I want that water resistant/proof final finish to last as long as possible. Washing speeds up that process.
